In this installment of the series, we see Sean the leprechaun attend the birthday of Leon, his human friend. Each character in the story has a gift for Leon. But perhaps the most original gift is the one from Witchi. This gift, which is very restless, escapes in the middle of the birthday causing a tremendous hubbub that no one expected.
When the birthday is over, the gang flies over Madrid to take Mouse to his mother. On the way back, Eala, the swan, tells them a story about the Celts of Ireland, which is her birthday present for Leon. Everyone enjoys the story and goes to sleep after a day full of adventures.
The story refers to the hero Cú Chulainn because Celtic legends have greatly influenced Catherine. As a child she listened to Celtic legends about the first inhabitants of Ireland, the Tuatha Dé Danann. Danu’s clan were very special beings. They populated ancient Ireland with their wisdom, magic and supernatural powers. In addition, she lives near the mountain Sliabh an Iarainn, which is the place where the Tuatha Dé Dannann first landed in Ireland. According to legends, to avoid a war with another race, they became invisible and live in a magical kingdom located in the landscape of Ireland. This makes it easy to create a leprechaun that is invisible to everyone but the Lion child.
